RADO POLIC - MANAGER, UNDERWRITING

Rado Polic joined Brooklyn Underwriting Pty Ltd (previously Oceanic Underwriting) in 1995 as a Commercial Lines Underwriter responsible for the development of the Property & Liability portfolios.
During his time at Oceanic, Rado in his capacity as a senior underwriter was heavily involved in successfully negotiating the procurement of Liability & Property binders at Lloyds.
Rado has many years experience in the General Insurance market commencing his career with the Guardian Royal Exchange (GRE) IN 1988. Rado joined Zurich Insurance Group in 1992 following their acquisition of GRE.

Rado’s current role is that of Manager, Underwriting.

DAVID PORTEOUS - MANAGER, UNDERWRITING

David joined Brooklyn in January 2010 in the position of Underwriter. He has spent the last 12 years in a variety of positions in the insurance and reinsurance markets in Australia. Prior to joining Brooklyn, David was a Director and partner in a specialist independent (re)insurance consultancy based in Sydney. From 1997 to 2005 David spent 8 years with Reinsurance Australia Corporation Ltd. David is a Senior Associate of the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance and is a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP). He holds a Bachelor of Business degree.

David’s current role is that of Manager, Underwriting.

DENVER VAN GRAMBERG - MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Denver Van Gramberg joined Brooklyn in December 2010 in the position of Manager, Business Development.
Denver has attained a Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance), and a Bachelor of Law. In addition, Denver was admitted as a solicitor before the Supreme Court of NSW in February 2008. Denver worked in a legal practice for 5 years after which he took the position of NSW Business Development Underwriter at a global insurance firm. Denver is highly regarded by both international and non-international brokers and has a proven ability in building mutually beneficial relationships.

As Manager in Business Development, Denver fills a highly critical role across all products here at Brooklyn.

FREDDIE ARGUELLES - SENIOR  UNDERWRITER PROFESSIONAL RISKS

Freddie joined Brooklyn Underwriting with nearly two decades of industry experience. He commenced his professional risks career in 2004 with Chartis, initially looking after the real estate agents PI book. Prior to that he ran a property management company. In 2007 he was awarded ANZIIF Student of the Year. Freddie brings in-depth experience in building relationships with brokers and enjoys working on challenging individual risks as well as high volume scheme portfolios. He draws technical expertise from both a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business (Hons) and own-business experience in the health and property management industries.

Freddie looks after the miscellaneous PI book of Brooklyn as Senior Underwriter.

DOUG DALY - MANAGER, PROPERTY

Doug Daly is a widely recognised industry veteran within the Australian Insurance market. Doug spent over 32 years with Commercial Union / CGU in various senior executive positions, and in the last 8 years has been running his own independent consulting firm specialising in areas of underwriting training and risk control type surveys. Doug officially joined Brooklyn in June 2010 in the position of Property Manager & Surveyor with overall responsibility for the Brooklyn EPS facility. He is a Fellow of both the Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance & Finance and the Chartered Insurance Institute.

DAMIEN STEPHEN - SENIOR UNDERWRITER IT&T

Damien joined Brooklyn Underwriting in July 2011 as a Senior IT&T Underwriter having spent 14 years in the general and professional liability insurance markets. Most recently, Damien was a Senior Underwriter at AXIS Specialty Australia where he was responsible for the Northern Region IT Liability and National Multimedia Liability portfolios. Damien is an ANZIIF Associate, a Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) and holds qualifications in both Insurance and Information Technology – Network Management.
